Democratic Candidate Kamala Harris’ Team Plans to Target Social Media Platform 'X'
An advisory group associated with Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris is reportedly planning to take down the popular social media platform, 'X' (formerly Twitter). Among her team members is British political strategist Morgan McSweeney, who leads the organisation called the 'Center for Countering Digital Hate' (CCDH). This organisation has close ties to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Labour Party.
According to documents leaked by The Disinformation Chronicle, CCDH developed a strategy to undermine Elon Musk's platform, X. These documents, from March of this year, detail a multi-phase plan under the title "Kill Musk's Twitter," which includes efforts to destabilise the platform's economy and drive away advertisers.
The topic gained further attention after it was shared by the Daily News of X. In response, Elon Musk voiced strong concerns, stating, "This is akin to election interference by violating U.S. criminal laws." Musk further emphasised that CCDH would face opposition from its financial backers.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk, known for his support of Republican candidate Donald Trump after his firing, has been vocal about his political stance. Beyond backing Trump, Musk has reportedly provided financial support to Republican efforts in several states. He has also criticised the Democratic Party, particularly President Joe Biden, for his handling of immigration issues and policies related to electric vehicles and the economy. On the other hand, there are speculations that Trump may consider Musk as a potential advisor if he secures another term in office.
